We all love our mobile phones, but using them abroad can leave you with a very nasty pain in the wallet when you get home. GeoSIM’s global SIM card takes the sting out of using your mobile in over 100 countries enabling you to keep in touch worldwide, without costing the earth.
Review:
The Geo Sim Card arrived 24 hours after we ordered it.
It arrived with a detailed set of instructions and a white sim card with all the details needed, we had bought £15 of airtime when we ordered the card so we didn’t' need to top up.
It was easy to follow the instructions and within a minute we had the card installed on the phone.
I entered a UK mobile number +447..... and dialled I got the message please wait, and the call was terminated. A split second later I got a call saying please wait while we connect you.
The call was transferred as a private call to the other mobile and worked immediately with crystal sharp quality and no delays.
I got a status text message afterwards informing me of the call charges for the call.
Text Message I entered a Test Message and sent it to my other phone and within seconds I got the text message originating from my Geo Sim Number I replied to the text message and it arrived instantly on my Geo Sim Phone. We tested the account management online and it worked you can see your balance and last call, we also tried the conference system they have an the call recording, the conference calls was a little tricky to set up and it did require us to try a few times before getting it right, We recommend practicing the conference feature before you have the all important client conference call.
You have to have an unlocked phone to use the GEOSIM - GlobalSimCard
Customer Service:
They both reply to emails and also using the number 154 from your sim card, to check you balance dial 187
We emailed customer support after 6pm UK time as that’s when we arrived at our destination. We also tried calling 154 but there was no reply. However they replied via email in minutes and answered all our questions in a friendly and explanatory matter.
The telephone customer service seem to operate at UK Business Hours.

Quality of Calls:
You can't tell it's callback and the calls sound normal without any echo or noise.

Call Connection:
The call back is instant and seamless and the connection time is not really noticable, it took 1.3 seconds to connect

Text Messaging:
I entered a Test Message and sent it to my other phone and within seconds I got the text message originating from my Geo Sim Number
I replied and it arrived instantly on my Geo Sim Phone.
MMS is not supported

Data Roaming:
Data roaming is supported now and you can use the data connection to recieve emails when you are abroad

Ease of Use:

Their instructons on how to make a call are clear and easy to follow and you should be able to make calls in a few minutes if you have an unlocked phone. They also email a more detailed guide and there is a lot of information on they website that explains almost any problem you run into.

  • £10 call credi buys $15.50 of call credit so the commnet of only buying $13 is wrong. Not sure what you mean about Con Artists. This satement is defamatory and is not qualified. If you have a problem, contact the SIM provider directly and get the issue sorted.

  • I looked at the dual sim to roam in US. It says free incoming calls in the US but that is only if the UK number is called. If the US number is called it is not FREE. Only learned this by calling them and fineprint on the website. There is also a 11 GBP annual fee if you want to renew your card in a year. End up not buying, too expensive.

  • EXPENSIVE. The UK prices quoted are about half of what is actually charged. This is because 1. Its a US Dollar based system 2. You buy credit blocks. In my case £10+vat(£11.50) bought only $13 worth of credit. Not mid range exchange rate but GEOSIM purchase rate. 3. They charge per minute rounded up. Cheaper to use O2/Vodfone etc. IMO
